摘要：A new form of Miocene rodent (Diatomys shantungensis gen. et sp. nov.) is described in the present paper. The specimens include the imprints of a nearly complete skeleton, outline of the body together with some hairs and whiskers preserved (Holotype, Peking Museum of Natural history Cat. no. PM 5967)，and an anterior part of the skeleton with complete cheek teeth in situ (IVPP no. 2925, paratype). The fossils occurring in association. with Lagomeryx teillardi (Young, 1965) and Pleiaceratherium shanwangensis (Wang, 1964) were discovered from the diatomaceous shale of "Shanwang Series" of Linchu District, Shantung Province to which a middle Miocene age has been assigned.
