　　浙江嵊县人，中共党员。古鱼类学家。1982年获瑞典斯德哥尔摩大学博士学位。长期致力于脊椎动物比较形态学、古鱼类学、中－新生代地层、古动物地理学、古生态学及生物演化的研究。对泥盆纪总鳍鱼类、肺鱼和陆生脊椎动物间关系研究的结果，对传统看法提出了疑问，受到国际同行的重视。1991年当选中科院学部委员（院士）。曾当选国际古生物协会主席、英国林奈学会外籍会员、瑞典皇家科学院外籍院士，获北美古脊椎动物学会授予的罗美尔－辛普森奖、世界杰出女科学家奖等。2021年获小行星命名。曾任古脊椎所第三、四任所长。

Dr. Chang Meemann was born in Shengxian, Zhejiang Province, and she is a CPC member and a paleoichthyologist. She earned her Ph.D. from Stockholm University in Sweden in 1982. Chang has long been dedicated to the study of the comparative morphology of vertebrates, paleoichthyology, Mesozoic-Cenozoic stratigraphy, paleozoogeography, paleoecology, and biological evolution. Her research on the relationships among Devonian crossophora, Dipnoi, and terrestrial vertebrates questioned conventional knowledge, and received international attention. In 1991, she was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. She was the president of the International Paleontological Association and a foreign member of the Linnean Society of London, and she was elected to the position of Foreign Member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in Stockholm. Among her awards, she won the Romer-Simpson Medal given by the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology, and the L'Oréal-UNESCO Women in Science Award. An asteroid was named after Chang in 2021. She served as the third and fourth director of the IVPP.
